P6 News: The Outstanding Story teller

On Wednesday 27th April 2016 a story teller called Steve came into our school . He visited all the classes and told amazing stories. When he came to p6/7 he brought a didgeridoo with him, funky hats ,paintings and other musical instruments.

He told us a story about an ancient Greece. Steve is from the Republic of Ireland. Steve also acted parts of the story out. He played sounds on the didgeridoo one sounded like a buzzing bees another sounded like an elephant and the last sounded like a dingo bark.

The story was about men who crossed the sea for weeks trying to find land. When they finally found land they went into a cave to sleep but when they woke up they heard a sound that was like giant footsteps. They had to hide in the cave because the giant was coming and they couldn’t get away.

The giant appeared in front of the cave and turned out to be a Cyclops and he was starving!!! The Cyclops was in the cave and he could smell humans but one of the men called Jack said to the Cyclops you can have a nap first before you eat us.

The Cyclops came closer and asked what is your name? Jack replied , “ I don’t have a name!” The Cyclops agreed to have a nap. Quickly all the men headed to boat and sailed away. When the Cyclops woke up they were one hundred yards off shore. Jack threw a stone onto the island. That annoyed the Cyclops.HE then started throughing huge rocks into the sea and that is why there are so many Greek islands today.

He was really interesting and told great stories. We would all love to have him back in school again. In class we can now use some of his ideas and use of adjectives and verbs in our own stories.
