Minibeasts - Small but Mighty! 🐛
15th Apr 2026
Let’s explore the world beneath our feet! The Butterfly Room has begun their new topic; Minibeasts this week.
We have looked at different types of minibeasts, the colours they can be and the variety of patterns they have. We have counted 10 Little Ladybirds whilst enjoying the wonderful story too! 🐞
We went outside to look for some minibeasts and smell the spring flowers.
We developed our fine motor skills through a sensory wormery activity and later, enjoyed putting some spots on ladybirds using playdough.
We painted our own ladybirds using red paint and placed spots on them using black paint, concentrating on the colours and patterns. This also support hand eye coordination development and developed mark-making skills.
